At the 8th Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum in Moscow, the President of the Republic highlighted the strategic importance of the 'Algiers Declaration' in ensuring global energy security. As the summit presidency passed to Russia, the President emphasized the work of the Algiers-based Gas Research Institute (GRI), urging it to lead in carbon reduction technologies, digitalization, and energy efficiency. The President defended the sovereign right of nations to define their own energy policies, warning that volatile regulations disrupt markets. He further called for a consensual regulatory framework to secure long-term investments in gas infrastructure, emphasizing the need for fair valuation within long-term contracts to meet both energy security and climate goals.
