The criminal court of Dar El Beïda has sentenced three individuals to life imprisonment for their involvement in a transnational drug trafficking and money laundering organization. Two other suspected leaders were sentenced in absentia, with arrest warrants issued against them. The operation began following intelligence from Army Security, leading to the seizure of 62.5 kilograms of cocaine hidden in the fuel tank and spare tire of a vehicle in Blida. The traffickers used the logo of a charity organization to evade security checks. The investigation revealed that the network transported narcotics from the southern borders to northern cities, with transport fees reaching 350 million centimes per trip, managed via WhatsApp. Confessions from a Malian national led to further arrests in Laghouat and Adrar. Despite the main defendant's attempt to deny knowledge of the cargo during the trial, the court upheld the life sentence request.
