The National Independent Authority for Elections has announced a clear increase in the number of candidates running for the upcoming wilaya and municipal popular assemblies, scheduled for November 28. For the wilaya assemblies, the number of candidates rose by 13.56%, reaching 21,476 individuals vying for 2,855 seats. Meanwhile, for the municipal assemblies, the number of candidates grew by 22.70%, totaling 141,388 contestants for 26,575 available seats. These figures represent a notable growth compared to the data from the 2021 local elections.
