Strengthening Ties: Algeria and the Netherlands Discuss Strategic Cooperation

Algeria's Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held talks this Monday with the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tom Bruijn, who is on a working visit to Algeria from November 2 to 3, 2026. The meeting served to evaluate the four-century-old diplomatic ties and explore avenues for further collaboration. Both sides agreed to boost bilateral relations by activating the joint committee for economic and technological cooperation, strengthening the legal framework, and encouraging business-to-business partnerships. Priority sectors discussed included energy, renewables, water resources, agriculture, and the food industry. Additionally, the ministers addressed migration, consular affairs, and current regional and international issues of common interest.
