Interior Minister Brahim Merad presented the 2027 budget proposal for his ministry to the National People's Assembly. The funding, totaling over 1,500 billion dinars, targets local authority support, grassroot infrastructure projects such as water and electricity supply, and digital modernization. The plan also includes finalizing the establishment of eleven new provinces and two administrative districts. During the session, deputies emphasized the need for better urban policing, improved municipal waste management, and the necessity for local authorities to play a more active role in stimulating economic investment and job creation.
