Energy Cooperation: Algeria Delivers Significant Fuel Shipment to Niger
Energy cooperation between Algeria and Niger has reached a new milestone with the arrival of 53 tanker trucks carrying fuel to the northern city of Agadez. The shipment, ordered by the Nigerien oil company Sonidep, was received by Niger’s Minister of Petroleum, Hamadou Tini, to address local fuel shortages. Minister Tini expressed gratitude for Algeria’s logistics support, highlighting the solidarity between the two neighboring nations. This delivery follows agreements between Sonatrach and Sonidep, allowing Niger to secure petroleum products at favorable prices amid global market instability. Beyond emergency supplies, both countries are actively collaborating on major energy projects, including the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline and the joint development of the Kafra oil field, aiming to utilize their geographical proximity to foster mutual growth.
