Djillali Liabes University of Sidi Bel Abbès has reinforced its international standing by securing the top spot in Africa and the Maghreb for civil engineering in the Shanghai Academic Ranking, placing it within the global 201-300 bracket. The university also performed exceptionally well in mechanical engineering, ranking first in the Maghreb and second in Africa. University President Bouziani Merahi stated that these achievements reflect a long-term commitment to academic excellence and scientific research. The institution's global visibility was further bolstered by the 'US News Best Global Universities' 2025-2026 ranking, which named it the top university in Algeria and one of the top 1,000 worldwide. These results highlight the ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education and research productivity within Algerian higher education institutions.
