Haddou Moulay: Aït-Nouri is vital for Algeria, reflecting on his 2004 conflict with Saadane
Former Algerian international player Haddou Moulay has called for stability within the national team, describing the controversy surrounding Rayan Aït-Nouri as overblown and insisting that the player is a necessary asset for the squad. Reflecting on his footballing career, Moulay recalled his beginnings at ASM Oran, his decade-long tenure at MC Oran, where he won four titles, and his successful stint at USM Alger, where he proved to be a prolific defender with 11 goals. He also expressed regret that the interference of certain agents prevented him from pursuing a professional career in Europe. Discussing his time with the national team, he addressed his frustration during the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia, specifically his last-minute exclusion by coach Rabah Saadane despite being the only left-back on the roster. Now a coach himself, Moulay noted that he has learned to respect the decision-making process of technical staff regardless of the outcome.
