Students return to classrooms across Algeria following autumn break

Today, students across primary, middle, and secondary schools nationwide returned to their classrooms following the conclusion of their five-day autumn break, in accordance with the official academic calendar. As school activities resume, the Ministry of Education continues to implement its updated assessment framework. In primary education, emphasis is placed on continuous evaluation, with quarterly exams removed for the first year. Middle school students follow established testing procedures, with one supervised assignment per subject, emphasizing student participation. Secondary education now places greater weight on practical work and individual school projects. Looking ahead, the official calendar schedules the winter holidays from December 17, 2026, to January 3, 2027, and the spring break from March 18 to April 4, 2027.
