Algeria Diversifies Oil Exports with Special Shipments to Eight Countries in 2026
During the first nine months of 2026, Algeria exported nine exceptional maritime shipments of petroleum products, totaling 3.4 million barrels across eight nations. This activity follows geopolitical instability in the Middle East that impacted shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz. Oman led the list of recipients of these rare shipments with 1.4 million barrels, followed by Indonesia, the United States, Bulgaria, Libya, Taiwan, Egypt, and Guinea. Despite a daily average of 298,000 barrels exported throughout this period, South Korea, the United States, Japan, Belgium, and France remained the leading overall importers of Algerian petroleum products.
