New Requirements for 2027 Irrigation Equipment Imports
The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries has established procedures for the 2027 provisional import programs for irrigation equipment. Economic operators are required to submit their import forecasts in an electronic Excel format, detailing product names, ten-digit customs codes, commercial registration numbers, stock status, quantities needed, banking domiciliation, and prices in US dollars. This initiative, coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Trade, aims to improve the management of agricultural water resources and ensure precise planning for supply. The ministry emphasized that locally manufactured goods that meet market needs will not be included in these import lists. While this measure helps authorities assess national demand more accurately, the ministry clarified that submitting these files does not equate to an automatic approval of the requested quantities.
