Algerian President calls for cultural revival at International Philharmonic Orchestra debut
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has emphasized that Algeria's economic progress must be accompanied by a robust cultural and artistic expansion to restore the nation's historical prestige. The statement was made during the premiere concert of the International Philharmonic Orchestra of Algeria at the Boualem-Bessaïh Opera, marking the 72nd anniversary of the liberation revolution. Commending the initiative led by maestro Amine Kouider, the President highlighted the efforts of the 70-member ensemble. The event, titled "Algeria… an Immortal Symphony," featured a repertoire of patriotic anthems, classical world masterpieces, and iconic Algerian musical pieces, attended by government officials and diplomats. The orchestra is part of a state-backed vision to boost symphonic music and strengthen Algeria's international cultural influence.
