Chlef: Criminal network dismantled with 12.5 kg of Moroccan cannabis seized

The judicial police of Chlef have successfully dismantled an organized criminal gang involved in drug trafficking. During an operation conducted last week, six individuals aged between 39 and 50 were arrested, and a total of 12.5 kilograms of cannabis originating from Morocco were confiscated. Investigators initially intercepted 1.5 kg of the substance being transported toward Chlef. Subsequent investigations led the team to a border province where three additional suspects were apprehended, leading to the recovery of 11 more kilograms of drugs. Authorities also seized three vehicles, an electric bicycle, a bladed weapon, and binoculars. The suspects have been brought before the public prosecutor at the court of Chlef on charges of possession, transport, and distribution of narcotics as part of an organized criminal group.
