The seed and fertilizer storage administration in Guelma is preparing for the 2026/2027 agricultural season, ensuring a sufficient supply of high-quality inputs. With plans to cultivate over 80,000 hectares, distribution of base fertilizers has already commenced in the municipalities of Belkheir, Oued Zenati, and Tamlouka. Meanwhile, local processing of seeds suitable for the regional climate is underway. To access subsidized inputs, farmers are required to submit official documentation, including technical cards and a commitment to sell their future yields to the cereal cooperative. Additionally, farmers are calling for the introduction of direct payment counters at sales points to bypass long queues at agricultural banks.
