Algerian Football Federation announces talent development plan and strict club oversight
The Algerian Football Federation (FAF), led by Walid Sadi, unveiled a comprehensive development strategy during its recent meeting at Sidi Moussa. A key initiative is the launch of a national talent discovery program in 2027, featuring four U15 regional teams. The federation also announced a new U20 Futsal tournament and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting women's football and coaching staff development. Regarding professional clubs, eight teams are currently barred from registering new players due to financial disputes and must settle their debts to comply with FIFA and local regulations. The FAF expressed satisfaction with the professional league's organization, noting that the VAR system was utilized in 88% of matches during the first seven rounds. The Algerian Cup draw is scheduled for December 17. Additionally, the federation confirmed its confidence in coach Ibrahim Hemdani ahead of the Togo matches and secured the use of the Salem Mabrouki stadium in Rouiba for youth and women's teams.
