Forestry officials in Mila province successfully halted an illegal hunting operation on Mount Hadid in the municipality of Rouached. The operation led to the arrest of several individuals caught in the act, with the seizure of their hunting gear and ammunition, which were subsequently handed over to the Gendarmerie Nationale for further investigation. The illegally hunted game was also confiscated, and legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects. Meanwhile, authorities clarified that the 2026-2027 hunting season is now underway across nine designated areas, while explicitly banning hunting in fire-damaged regions to allow for ecological recovery.
