Launch of the International Philharmonic Orchestra of Algeria
The International Philharmonic Orchestra of Algeria has been officially established, bringing together 70 musicians under the baton of conductor Amine Kouider. Following a decision by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune during a Council of Ministers meeting, this initiative aims to strengthen the role of classical music and orchestral art in the country. The announcement coincided with the 72nd anniversary of the outbreak of the November 1st, 1954 Revolution, symbolizing a bridge between national memory and cultural advancement. The project seeks to showcase Algerian talent, foster professional musical standards, and enhance the presence of national art on the global stage, while also encouraging a wider appreciation of classical music among the younger generation.
