Tina Morris and Faradj Mohamed Younès carry the Algerian flag at the Dakar Youth Olympic Games

Table tennis athletes Tina Morris and Faradj Mohamed Younès were chosen to carry the Algerian national flag during the opening ceremony of the Youth Olympic Games held in Dakar, Senegal, in 2026. Algeria is participating in this fourth edition, which runs from October 31 to November 13, with a 72-member delegation, including 41 athletes competing across 17 different sports. This event marks a historical milestone as it is the first time the Youth Olympics are hosted in Africa, featuring approximately 2,700 athletes from over 200 nations. The Algerian squad will compete in a wide range of sports such as athletics, swimming, basketball 3x3, boxing, and gymnastics.
