Wind energy in Algeria: Sonelgaz adds feasibility phase for new wind farms
Sonelgaz's renewable energy subsidiary has updated the development plan for two 100 MW wind farms in Djelfa and Laghouat. After initiating the tender process in September, the company introduced a mandatory feasibility study phase on October 20th. This new call for tenders targets Algerian firms with proven international experience and the technical capability to handle projects of at least 20 MW. Boukhalfa Yaici, head of the Green Energy Cluster Algeria, praised the decision, noting that it represents a positive shift for the sector by allowing local experts to team up with international partners to create more robust and competitive project bids.
