The 2027 Finance Bill introduces new regulations regarding vehicle imports for Algerian nationals returning home permanently. The proposal expands tax incentives to include hybrid vehicles (petrol and electric) used for goods transport with a weight limit of 5.950 tonnes, as well as motorcycles. This change aims to standardize technical criteria across different vehicle categories. Furthermore, the bill introduces a flat 60% tax on the value of goods exceeding established limits to simplify customs procedures and ensure legal clarity. These measures also apply to diplomatic and consular staff, who may now benefit from customs incentives on motorcycles valued at up to 10 million dinars upon completing their overseas assignments.
