Ministry of Post warns against the risks of identity theft online
The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications has issued an urgent warning to citizens regarding the risks of identity theft and the fraudulent use of personal documents. In an official advisory, the ministry highlighted that a single image of a national ID card can be enough for criminals to illegally exploit personal information. The ministry strongly advises against sharing photos of IDs, passports, or Edahabia cards with untrusted online pages or third-party sellers. To prevent becoming victims of fraud or unauthorized data usage, citizens are urged to verify who they are dealing with and to strictly follow the safety protocol: stop, verify, and do not become a victim.
