Damascus summons Jordanian ambassador following airstrikes in Deraa
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the Jordanian ambassador to Damascus, Soufiane Qudah, to deliver an official protest note regarding the aerial bombardment in the Deraa governorate. This move follows an agreement between both nations to form a joint security committee to investigate the circumstances of the strikes. While Damascus reported that the raids resulted in civilian casualties, including children, Jordan maintains that the operation targeted terrorist sites in retaliation for an attack on a church in the Karak governorate.
