Mining and Mining Industries Minister Mourad Hanifi presented the strategic outlook for 2027 to the National People's Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee. The sector’s goal is to increase national economic value by enhancing local processing capabilities and mobilizing both domestic and international investment. Key initiatives include the Gara Djebilet iron project, the integrated phosphate complex, and the lead and zinc site in Tala Hamza. A significant emphasis is placed on local content, ensuring that national firms and skilled workers play a central role in these developments. For 2027, the ministry has allocated 1.1 billion DA to research and exploration, part of a wider 2.5 billion DA program through 2028. With a proposed budget of 20.48 billion DA, the sector aims to achieve industrial growth while strictly adhering to environmental protection and safety standards.
