Sonatrach is expanding its energy collaboration with major American corporations to enhance hydrocarbon production and exchange technological expertise. During a recent visit to Houston, Sonatrach’s CEO held talks with his counterpart from Occidental Petroleum, Richard Jackson, to discuss development in the Berkine Basin, advanced oil recovery techniques, and unconventional resource management. This dialogue builds upon a long-standing partnership, reinforced by several technical and exploration agreements signed between 2022 and 2025. Concurrently, U.S. efforts to boost economic ties remain active; Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the U.S. for Arab and African affairs, recently met with ExxonMobil representatives to explore pathways for expanding American investments and commercial cooperation within the Algerian energy sector.
