Algeria-Russia trade sees significant growth in 2026
Economic relations between Algeria and Russia are experiencing a strong upward trend. Bilateral trade volume reached $3.84 billion in the first nine months of 2026, representing a 20% increase from the $3.2 billion recorded in 2025. Russian officials have praised the partnership, particularly in military and technical cooperation, describing it as exemplary. Algeria remains Russia's second-largest trading partner in Africa, following Egypt, with both nations aiming to reach $10 billion in trade by 2030. The trade balance currently favors Russia; while Algeria imports significant quantities of grain, its exports to Russia consist primarily of fruits and plastic products.
