Algeria: New digital platform launched to monitor consumer prices
The Ministry of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation has officially launched 'Tawasol – The Consumer's Voice,' a digital platform designed to foster interaction between consumers and authorities. The platform enables citizens to report commercial irregularities, such as failure to display prices, violations of capped pricing, hygiene issues, and shortages of essential goods. This project aligns with presidential directives to establish a daily monitoring mechanism for commodity prices across the country. Additionally, the ministry has reiterated that all economic operators must display prices clearly and legibly. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in legal action, administrative closures, and fines ranging up to 100,000 Algerian dinars.
