Sonatrach releases 2025 annual results amid global market fluctuations

Sonatrach’s 2025 annual report highlights a turnover of 42.54 billion dollars, representing an 11.9% decrease from 2024, as the average crude oil price fell to 69 dollars. Net profit stood at 603 billion dinars, with hydrocarbon exports accounting for 38.71 billion dollars. Primary production remained steady at 193.7 million tonnes of oil equivalent, alongside a 6% increase in domestic market sales. The group increased its investments by 29% to 7.9 billion dollars, resulting in 17 new hydrocarbon discoveries. Sonatrach remains a key gas supplier for Italy and Spain and has made environmental progress, cutting gas flaring by 31% compared to 2020. Furthermore, the company continues to support the domestic economy, with 83% of its contracts awarded to Algerian firms.
