The Algerian Water Company (ADE) and the Algerian Water Desalination Company (ADC), a subsidiary of Sonatrach, have signed water purchase and sales agreements in Algiers. The ceremony, attended by officials from the Ministries of Energy, Finance, and Hydraulics, aims to strengthen coordination between production and distribution channels. The contracts cover five major desalination plants located in El Tarf, Béjaïa, Boumerdès, Tipasa, and Oran, which entered service in early 2025 as part of a presidential program. These measures are designed to ensure the operational efficiency of the plants, protect public investments, and guarantee the continuity of public service to bolster national water security.
