Algeria calls for an African digital platform to monitor the Ebola virus
The Minister of Health has proposed the creation of an African digital platform designed to provide continuous epidemiological surveillance of the Ebola virus. During an online meeting hosted by the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, the Minister highlighted that such a mechanism would facilitate data sharing and cooperation among African health authorities. This initiative is intended to improve decision-making processes, resource allocation, and early detection capabilities. Additionally, Algeria reiterated its commitment to continental solidarity by contributing financially to the Ebola response fund and offering to provide technical expertise to support collective health security efforts across Africa.
