The regional office of the Independent National Electoral Authority in Oum El Bouaghi has approved 2172 candidacy applications for the upcoming local elections on November 28, covering 101 electoral lists. Regional coordinator Cherif Kacemi stated that 544 files for municipal assemblies and 64 for the provincial assembly were rejected due to legal non-compliance, age requirements, criminal records, tax issues, or alleged ties to suspicious business circles. Candidates whose files were rejected have the right to appeal to the administrative court, and the deadline for substituting the 608 rejected names remains open until October 28.
