Lionel Messi includes Algerian talent Ibrahim Maza in his list of world's best young players

Algerian international Ibrahim Maza has made history by becoming the first player from his nation to enter the top ten ranking for the best young player award. The recognition comes following a vote by Lionel Messi, who placed Maza third in his selection for the under-21 category. This acknowledgment highlights Maza's rising status in global football. The two players previously met on the pitch during the group stages of the 2026 World Cup, where Maza stood out for his performance, including a key play for teammate Farès Chaïbi that was eventually ruled out for offside.
