Since last week, the Algiers water distribution company has initiated a campaign to disconnect water supply to customers who have failed to pay their dues. Field teams have been carrying out deep disconnections from the distribution network for customers who ignored previous payment warnings and notices. The company stated that the sustainability of water and sanitation services relies on timely bill payments. These measures will continue to target other customers who have been formally notified but have yet to settle their outstanding debts. The utility company urged residents to resolve their financial status to avoid severe measures like service disconnection and subsequent reconnection fees. Payments can be made at commercial agencies, via the 'Fatourati' platform, the 'Wakalati' mobile application, or by setting up a payment schedule for large balances.
