Air Algérie expands ground handling operations in Nigeria
Air Algérie has bolstered its operational capabilities in Nigeria by securing a new ground handling contract with the local firm Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO). The agreement covers services at Lagos Murtala Muhammed International Airport and Abuja Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. SAHCO will provide essential ground support, including passenger assistance, baggage handling, and tarmac operations. This contract marks an expansion of an existing partnership that began in April 2025 in Abuja, now incorporating the commercial hub of Lagos into the airline's network. While the financial details and duration of the contract remain undisclosed, the move allows the Algerian carrier to leverage specialized local equipment and trained personnel to facilitate its flight operations.
