Three European nations move to boost Algerian gas imports
Czechia, France, and Germany are actively seeking to expand their energy partnerships with Algeria to diversify and secure their supply chains. Prague is working to double its contracted volumes with Sonatrach, targeting 400 million cubic meters per year. Meanwhile, Paris has requested an increase in oil and LNG shipments to navigate market volatility, although existing contractual obligations remain a factor. Germany is also set to receive additional gas supplies beginning in January 2027, following a strategic agreement with Sonatrach, further reinforcing Algeria's status as a reliable energy partner for Europe.
