Netherlands: National platform launched to track attacks on mosques

A representative body for the Muslim community in the Netherlands has unveiled a national digital platform to record and document threats, vandalism, and attacks against mosques and Islamic institutions. The initiative, established by the Contact Group for Muslims and Government, aims to address the underreporting of discrimination and provide reliable data for policy advocacy. Mohsin Koktas, head of the organization, stated that the center will help ensure complaints are properly tracked and used to demand concrete government action and protection measures against Islamophobia. The Dutch police have welcomed the platform, which includes a verification process for reports to ensure reliability. Official figures show that 414 discriminatory incidents against Muslims were recorded in the Netherlands in 2025, 20 of which were direct attacks on mosques.
