Gaza faces ongoing violence and mounting fears over territorial control plans

Four Palestinians were killed and 16 injured yesterday following Israeli shelling in Gaza, including attacks on the Zeitoun neighborhood and a displaced persons' tent in Mawasi, Khan Yunis. These ongoing breaches of the ceasefire are compounded by the Civil Defense's inability to retrieve bodies from under the rubble due to a severe shortage of heavy machinery. Meanwhile, 16 detainees were released through the Kerem Shalom crossing. Tensions are escalating over proposed shelter projects in Rafah and the installation of military gates on the coastal road, which residents fear could lead to the fragmentation of the Gaza Strip, coinciding with extremist calls for renewed settlements. In the West Bank, settlers attacked the village of At-Tuwani and set fire to parts of the Al-Taqwa mosque, further highlighting the ongoing efforts to forcibly reshape the landscape.
