Donald Trump confirms he will leave the White House at the end of his term
U.S. President Donald Trump stated in a recent interview that he will depart from office once his current term concludes. While acknowledging that he would have enjoyed running again, he noted that the law is strict regarding term limits. Trump, who officially took office as the 47th President on January 20, 2025, following his November 2024 victory, previously served from 2017 to 2021. Under the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits anyone from being elected president more than twice, Trump is ineligible to run for a third term in the 2028 presidential election.
